The British Journal of Photography has launched a redesigned version of its publication specially designed for the iPhone.
The 158-year-old publication decided to completely recreate its pages for the smaller screen of the iPhone and split the 100 page monthly magazine into smaller, more frequent editions.
A spokesperson for BJP said: "Uploading print pages into an app is easy for publishers, but the result is a page that you have to keep pinching and zooming to read.
“Last year we released an iPad App, with each page custom-made for the tablet, so we wanted to do the same for the iPhone: make a magazine that really works on the small screen."
The first edition of the app, which is free to download, includes an in-depth interview with photographer Roger Ballen, plus examples of his photography and video work. The app also includes live news, updated regularly, from BJP’s website.
Weekly publication will commence this Autumn, with issues priced at £0.69.
