Use Leica lenses on the Fujifilm X-Pro1 with M-mount adapter

For fairly obvious reasons given its looks, the Fujifilm X-Pro1 has drawn more than the odd comparison with the Leica M9. And now Fujifilm have launched a M-mount adapter for their impressive camera, meaning users can shoot with Leica lenses.
Fujifilm says the adapter enables the X-Pro1 to be used with M mount lenses – or those built to the same specification - and that it has been optimised to get the best performance from both camera and lens.
The M-mount adapter is constructed from three parts, an aluminium mount for the body, a stainless steel mount for the lens plus an aluminium central tube. This ensures the gap from lens to sensor is exactly 27.8mm and guarantees high quality images.
While users can also fine-tune lenses to get optimum performance, electronic connections automatically pass information to the X-Pro1 body based on pre-registered lens profiles. The adapter also still allows for the use of the X-Pro1’s Hybrid Multi Viewfinder.
The Fujifilm X-Pro1 M-mount adapter is due to go on sale for £179.99 and will be bundled with a gauge for checking the compatibility of M Mount lenses.
