Is the Olympus TG-1 iHS the toughest camera ever?
Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 10:43PM
Olympus have revealed their latest tough camera the TG-1, which it promises can withstand a beating and still take high quality photos.
And while they chose to do this through the medium press release, we'd have rather they launched it by throwing it off a waterfall, not because we don't like it... but because it probably would have survived.
The 12MP camera features a f2.0 high-speed lens, 4x wide optical zoom and can work 12m underwater. The Olympus TG-1 is also shockproof to 2m, crushproof to 100kg and can work in temperatures of -10°C.
The metal-bodied camera also features GPS and an electronic compass to help you find your way and is capable of shooting 1080p HD videos. And for serious (and brave) photographers there are optional fisheye and tele converter lenses which are also waterproof.
A spokesperson for Olympus said: "For all-action risk-takers or reef-loving divers, it’s peace of mind sealed in a stylish all-metal box."
