Fujifilm X10 brings X100 style to compact cameras

We are huge fans of the Fujifilm X100, it's one of the few cameras released in recent years which has made our shutter finger tingle with excitement.

And so we are keen to see how the new Fujifilm X10 -- the new 'premium compact' X-series camera -- measures up to its big brother.

Announced earlier this week, the X10 features 2/3" 12 megapixel EXR-CMOS sensor and a 4x manual zoom lens (28-112mm 35mm equivalent) in a retro-styled package.

Fujifilm say the F2.0 wide-angle and F2.8 telephoto Fujinon is characterised by its brightness and superb picture quality and it also doubles up as an on/off power switch, ensuring you can react quickly.

Sure this won't be competing with the X100 in the image quality stakes, but if you are in the market for a quality compact, and want more than a fitted 16mm lens, it's got to be worth a look.
